You will need to be certified, ATRA Rebuilder, R&R Technician and Service Writer. You will need to have the Skills of diagnosing Electrical problems with ease and be able to diagnose the latest Automatic and Manual Transmissions. An experience level of  10 to 15 years in the rebuilding of automatic Transmissions and Diagnostics is needed before applying.

The Dynamometer Repair Autopsy Technician is responsible for the repair of failed Dyno units. This role plays a key function within the quality department. Additionally, they will report and communicate findings and recommendations for the RTS, Dyno Repair and MAs to the quality team. Dynamometer Repair Autopsy Technician is regularly required to stand for periods of time and must also be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment required.

*Experience building and/or repairing transmissions is a must.*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect and diagnose automatic transmissions to identify mechanical issues, faults, and failures.
Disassemble and clean automatic transmissions, assessing the condition of individual components.
Utilize specialized tools, equipment, and diagnostic software to conduct thorough testing and analysis of transmission components and systems.
Repair or replace damaged or worn-out parts, such as clutches, gears, seals, solenoids, torque converters, and valve bodies, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Perform adjustments, calibrations, and programming of electronic control units (ECUs) related to automatic transmission systems.
Test and verify the proper functioning of rebuilt transmissions, utilizing dynamometers and other diagnostic equipment to simulate real-world driving conditions.
Ensure accurate documentation of all repair and rebuilding activities, including parts used, labor performed, and testing results.
Collaborate with other technicians and mechanics to address complex transmission-related issues and provide technical assistance when needed.
Stay up to date with advancements in automatic transmission technology, industry trends, and repair techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
Competencies:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in automotive technology or related fields is highly desirable.
Proven experience as an Automatic Transmission Rebuilder or similar role, with a strong understanding of automatic transmission systems, their components, and the rebuilding process.
Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, tools, and specialized software for automatic transmission repair and diagnostics.
Solid knowledge of transmission theories, operating principles, and repair techniques for various vehicle makes and models.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex transmission issues effectively.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work meticulously to ensure the accuracy and quality of rebuilt transmissions.
Familiarity with relevant safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries in a workshop environment.
Effective communication skills to interact with customers, explain diagnoses and repair recommendations clearly, and provide excellent customer service.
Physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy components, perform manual labor, and work in tight spaces as required.
Education/Experience:

HS Diploma or Technical degree
